What Lost Girls Station is about
The plot is inspired by events that occurred between 1995 and 2001 in Perpignan, southern France. During those years, a teenager disappears and three other young women are murdered near the city’s train station. These crimes shocked the region of the Eastern Pyrenees, as they not only left fatalities, but also a great unsolved enigma that generated social psychosis, prolonged investigations and broken hope.
The series reconstructs the police investigation that finally led to the arrest of Jacques Rançon, known as “the Perpignan station killer”convicted of rapes and murders such as those of Moktaria Chaïb, Marie-Hélène Gonzalez and Isabelle Mesnage. At the same time, it follows the story of the unclarified disappearance of Tatiana Andujar, whose body was never found, a case that even today remains a painful mystery. The production shows the judicial process, the confessions and recantations, the expert opinion efforts and the involvement of the community.
