15 years after the premiere of The Walking Deadhis story could continue for another 15 years, says one of the series’ producers.
During a panel at New York Comic-Con To commemorate the 15th anniversary of the television series’ premiere on AMC Network, the show’s writer and executive producer, Scott M. Gimplesaid there were still many stories to explore.
Speaking alongside the cast of Daryl Dixon – The Walking Dead spinoff series, which follows the iconic character of Norman ReedusGimple said: “It is very possible that we could see this group here in 15 years.”
“There are many more continents to visit. It’s about how [los personajes] they evolve over time. “It’s really exciting to see how far we can go with this,” he continued. In many ways, [las localizaciones] they give us the story,” Gimple said of the vast possibilities offered by story locations.
He went on to compare the world-building of the stories to that of the Marvel and DC films.
“It was one story. It went in a lot of different directions,” he explained during the panel discussion. “Even with characters who have done so many things, we can put them in different worlds where they face different challenges and help them evolve through them.”
The Walking Dead universe
The original series of The Walking Dead It lasted 11 seasons and ended in 2022. Daryl Dixon is the fifth television spin-off of The Walking Dead franchise, after Fear The Walking Dead, World Beyond, Tales Of The Walking Dead and dead city. Another spin-off debuted in 2024, titled The Ones Who Livebringing the total number to six.
In July of this year, AMC renewed The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon for a fourth and final season, which will consist of eight episodes.
