American actor Ralph Ahn has died at the age of 95. He is best known for his cult role Tran in “New Girl.”
American actor Ralph Ahn passed away last week at the age of 95. In the series, Ahn embodied the cult character Tran, who taciturnly befriended the main character Nick.
Johnson, who played Nicholas “Nick” Miller in the 146 episodes, wrote in his post about two pictures of Ahn: “I had so much fun with you at work.” He loved being on set with him and always kind of thought he’d be able to work with Ahn again. He sent condolences to his family and friends. Leading actress Zooey Deschanel (42) also responded to the post and expressed her grief with a crying emoji and a “Noooooo”.
son of a Korean icon
Nothing is known about Ahn’s cause of death. The actor was born in Los Angeles in 1926. He was the son of Korean icon Ahn Chang-ho (1878-1938). The political activist aspiring to Korean independence immigrated to San Francisco in 1902, where he led the Korean-American immigration society in the United States. His son Ralph initially served as a soldier in the United States during World War II and began his acting career in the 1950s. In addition to his involvement with “New Girl”, he was also seen in the series “Gilmore Girls”.
