Off-field he returns to Mar del Plata. The “unofficial” festival, which It originated in the face of the cultural cuts of the Government of Javier Milei, announced the programming of its second edition. “Fartie Pin” of Alejo Moguillansky, “The Currents” of Mumenthaler Miracles, “The Prince of Nanawa” of Clarisa Navasson and “It’s always night” of Luis Ortega are some of the featured films.
The contest was born last year under the name Contracampo. Now, In its second edition it changed its title, but not its flag: defending Argentine cinema. Nor did it make any changes to its headquarters, since again The screenings will be at the Enrique Carreras Theater and the special activities at the “El Gran Pez” bookstore.

Fuera de Campo will take place from November 6 to 11.
It will take place from November 6 to 11, coinciding with the date of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, organized by the National Institute of Audiovisual Arts (INCAA). This is no coincidence, since it is proposed as an alternative space. Since last year, The city of Mar del Plata has its own cinematic rift: there are two events that occur in parallel.
“This is not a boycott. It is a kind of alternative to highlighting what is about to be lost or what is being lost due to the INCAA policy”, explained to Scope Lautaro García Candela, festival organizer.
Fuera de Campo: a catalog in defense of national cinema
The Mar del Plata Festival celebrates its 40 years under the slogan “The rebirth of splendor.” Off the field it will also have its rebirth. Not only because of his name change, but because for the first time it opened its call for films unlike last yearwhich was by invitation. “We find very good films, very new, very unusual, and “We are very happy with the call we made”said García Candela. As happens in any event of this type, it will have a program that opens the doors to new projects.
One of the highlights is “The Currents” by Milagros Mumenthaler. After having its time at the Toronto Festival, New York and winning an award in San Sebastián, comes to Out of Field. Like “Pin de Fartie” by Alejo Moguillansky, which after being one of the five Argentine films at the Venice Festival, lands in Mar del Plata. And then there is the case of “The Prince of Nanawa” by Clarisa Navassonwhich completely hypnotized the film competition in Oberá, Misiones, where it was established as the big winner.
The Currents (1)

“Las Corrientes” by Milagros Mumenthaler arrives at Fuera de Campo.
Additionally, in the programming there is a section of “University Cinema” where student short films participate of the National University of La Platathe National University of the Coast and the Institute of Cinematographic Art of Avellaneda (IDAC). In this way, it gives a space to the new Argentine cinema.
There is not only news in Fuera de Campo. Their catalog is also made up of classics: “Good People” (1939) by Manuel Romero, “La Piel de Zapa” (1943) by Luis Bayón Herrera and “La Calesita” (1963) by Hugo del Carril. They will be projected in 16mm format by Carlos Mullerwho directs the Cineclub Dynamo, and Fernando Martin Penafilm historian and archivist.
Good People

The national classic “Gente Bien” by Manuel Romero is part of Fuera de Campo.
On the other hand, they have special activities with the aim of opening conversations about the current situation of national cinema. ““They are a kind of frank discussion about what happened, what is happening and what can happen in Argentine cinema with different speakers.”added the organizer. Fuera de Campo proposes a dialogue both outside and inside the room.
Tickets are purchased at the theater box office on the day of the performance and have a value of $5,000. However, in advance of the festival, passes can be purchased, which allow access to all Fuera de Campo functions. Besides, As the contest is self-managed and independent, they have a limited edition of tote bags for sale (handbags) which helps them finance the event.
Embed – Fuera de campo on Instagram: “FUERA DE CAMPO is an action in defense of Argentine cinema that is carried out in a self-managed and independent manner. By purchasing the totes you help us finance the expenses we face when doing the event. This pre-sale is a limited edition and you can pick them up at the Enrique Carreras Theater from November 6 to 11 or at a meeting point in CABA. Thank you for collaborating! See you at the cinema!”
“The ideal would be that we do not exist, that the Mar del Plata Festival works well, that the INCAA works well. “It is not something ideological, but merely management,” concluded organizer Lautaro García Candela. Even so Outside the Field gains ground in the national industry and generates noise in Mar del Platathe city, which like the industry, today is divided by cinema.
