In social networks, “Belly only pregnancy” is the declared ideal. Comedian Carolin Kebekus couldn’t quite keep up.
During her pregnancy, Carolin Kebekus (45) was not one of those women who was only fat in her stomach. “The social networks suggest an image of “sexy pregnant”, this “belly only pregnancy” in which everything else is still thin,” said the comedian to the German Press Agency in Cologne.
There are even competitions on Instagram in which you shouldn’t be able to see that the person is pregnant from behind. “But okay, of course that’s only the case for very few people. At some point I was pregnant everywhere, not just in my stomach, but even a little in my foot.”
Carolin Kebekus: “I think the word is crass”
On the other hand, there is the “Pregnancy Work-Out Routine” with sporting exercises for the pregnant woman. “I think the word is crass. In moderation it’s certainly smart, but if there’s such pressure because you want to show off your stomach during a baby shoot, then that’s questionable.”
Carolin Kebekus describes her experiences in the new book “8000 Ways to Fail as a Mother,” which will be published on November 6th by Kiepenheuer & Witsch.
