What Shrinking is about
Created by Goldstein, Segel and Bill LawrenceShrinking centers on the life of Jimmy Liard (played by Segel), a grieving therapist who decides to give his patients his honest opinion rather than listen to their feelings and stay out of their lives. This strategy, known as “Jimmying” in the second season, creates significant changes in the lives of his patients, especially those of Sean (Tennie) and Grace (Heidi Gardner).
Following the first season, which established the extent of Jimmy’s pain, as well as the connections he has with his co-workers, his daughter Alice (Maxwell), his best friend Brian (Urie), and others, the second season focused on forgiveness. Louis, played by Goldstein, entered the picture as the drunk driver who caused the death of Jimmy’s wife in a car accident, but many other characters also had their own story arcs about forgiveness.
Shrinking is produced for Apple TV by Warner Bros. Television.
