A healthy cooking specialist shared his tips for taking care of your diet and keeping glucose stable during the summer.

As temperatures rise, people with diabetes need to pay attention special attention to your diet and daily hydration. Climate changes can alter blood glucose values, so a healthy diet is very important to feel good and avoid complications.

The chef Diego La Ruffaa member of the team at the Ministry of Health of Tucumán and a specialist in healthy cooking, explained what types of meals should be prioritized during the hottest months. Furthermore, he gave some good recommendations to create fresh, nutritious and balanced dishes.

The chef, who has lived with diabetes since childhood, highlighted that during the summer he prefers light and fresh meals, leaving aside very greasy or high-calorie preparations. One of his favorite combinations is a salad with fennel, apple, walnuts and avocadobecause it provides fiber, proteins and healthy fats.

As a dressing, he suggests a mixture of lemon or orange juice, mustard, oil and a teaspoon of honey to enhance the flavor. The expert clarified that if this is done in controlled proportions, it does not cause any inconvenience. Furthermore, he recommended taking advantage of the raw fresh vegetablessince they better preserve their nutrients and help increase the feeling of satiety.
