The Academic Orchestra of the Teatro Colón was created in 1995, at the request of maestro Oscar Piluso, and arose within the Buenos Aires Philharmonic, with the objective of offering its members orchestral practice and the acquisition of experience based on a program aimed at the training of highly competitive professionals.
Starting in 2010, it was established as a training area of the Higher Institute of Art of the Teatro Colón. Made up of students from the Orchestral Academy program, the Academic Orchestra constitutes the youth symphonic organization of the Teatro Colón. Among his activities, his participation in different operatic, symphonic and ballet projects stands out, in the Main Hall and the Golden Hall.
