This is not the first time that Star Wars fans have demanded a change of course from Disney. In 2017, a petition was started to remake “The Last Jedi,” the controversial second part of the sequel trilogy.

Last week, Adam Driver made headlines after revealing in an interview that he and the director Steven Soderbergh had written and presented a new movie from the Star Wars universe, titled “The Hunt for Ben Solo”. The story would have resurrected his character, Ben Solo, also known as Kylo Ren.
“I was always interested in doing another Star Wars movie,” he told the Associated Press. “I had been talking about doing another one since 2021.” He called it “one of the coolest scripts I’ve ever worked on” and commented that Lucasfilm was excited about the project, but that Finally the executives of its parent company, Disney, rejected it. “They didn’t understand how Ben Solo was alive. Period,” he explained.
Fans’ request to save the movie “The Hunt for Ben Solo”
Now, fans who want that project to come to the big screen have come up with ways to spread their message. On October 23, the Collider portal reported that a plane was flying over the Disney Studios in California with a banner that said: “Save #TheHuntOfBenSolo”.
Two days later, the outlet also revealed that a billboard had been purchased in Times Square, featuring a sign in the signature Star Wars font that read: “To Adam. No one is truly gone. Hope lives. Ben is alive! #THBS”. Photos of both have circulated on social networks.

The fan who purchased the billboard, BD Neagle, told the website: “SHeard a fan who believed Ben’s story wasn’t over. “I wanted to do everything I could to support the fandom and everyone who participated in The Hunt for Ben Solo.” He continued, “If they could bring Palpatine back with one sentence, there are a lot of ways Ben could come back that already fit into the Star Wars story.”
This is not the first time that Star Wars fans have demanded a change of course from Disney. In 2017, a petition was started to remake The Last Jedi, the controversial second part of the sequel trilogy. The man who started the petition later admitted to regretting it.
Fans also showed their support for Solo: A Star Wars Story in 2018, launching a #MakeSolo2Happen campaign that went viral in 2020.
