Ex-government spokesman Béla Anda is also moving away from Gerhard Schröder. The joint podcast “The Agenda” has been stopped with immediate effect.
After his office manager and speechwriter Albrecht Funk and other employees quit their job with former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (77), his long-time press spokesman Béla Anda (58) is now leaving him. According to information from the news agency spot on news, Anda stopped the production of the joint podcast “Die Agenda” with immediate effect.
The previously weekly and approximately half-hour podcast episodes have been published every Tuesday since May 2020 and most recently reached over 360,000 subscribers with over a million downloads. In “The Agenda” Schröder and Anda spoke about “current and past, about his life today, his experiences and views,” says the description.
Gerhard Schröder was heavily criticized
Béla Anda was also responsible for the former chancellor’s social media activities on LinkedIn. During the red-green coalition under Gerhard Schröder, the journalist was the government spokesman and head of the federal press office from 2002 to 2005.
Since the start of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, the former chancellor has been increasingly criticized for his attitude towards Vladimir Putin (69). So far he has avoided publicly distancing himself from Putin or condemning his actions. The Russian President is considered a long-time friend of Schröder, and the former Chancellor is also the head of the supervisory board of the Russian state-owned company Rosneft.
