She herself is a native of Ukraine: in a haunting video, Mila Kunis and her husband Ashton Kutcher asked for donations for their home country. The couple themselves pay a considerable sum in advance.
She has lived in the USA for more than 30 years, went to school here, made a career and started a family. But the actress Mila Kunis (“Black Swan”) was born in 1983 in the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi, which at that time still belonged to the Soviet Union.
And so fate in her old homeland is particularly close to the 38-year-old. In a haunting video she posted to Instagram, she joined Ashton Kutcher in calling for donations to help the people of Ukraine. To this end, the couple launched a fundraising campaign. 30 million dollars should come together. The couple themselves are setting a good example – and are making an extremely generous donation: Kunis and Kutcher say they want to give three million dollars.

Mila Kunis says in the 90-second video that she is at home in the USA and feels like an American, but she has never been so proud to be a Ukrainian as she was that day. “And I’ve never been so proud to be married to a Ukrainian,” throws in husband Ashton Kutcher from the side.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher ask for help
The money collected during the fundraiser will be used to provide help quickly. Due to the humanitarian emergency in the European country, people who have fled to safety want to quickly get a helping hand. The most important thing is the logistics, explains Kutcher. There is an urgent need for shelter for the refugees, as well as food and other resources.
“People in Ukraine are strong and courageous,” Kunis concluded her appeal. But just because someone is strong and brave doesn’t mean they don’t need help. “We have to support the people of Ukraine. Please help us!”
