As detailed in the text of the Ministry’s Resolution, it was a complaint by Marcos that initiated the judicial investigation.

In that complaint, the architect noted the absence of three amphora-shaped porcelain vases located in the Empire antechamber room, six glass and crystal objects from different Swedish manufacturers of the 20th century, of different sizes and shapes, located in the room called ” former boutique” of the basement.

Also missing are the oil painting “Saint Joseph with the Child”, an anonymous work from the Murillo School of Spain from the 17th century, and the oil painting “Portrait of Infanta”, another anonymous work from the Spanish School from the 17th century.

In that same text, the reasons why the portfolio decided to remove the director during the investigation and the appointment of an intervener are explained: “Since the lack of elements of the patrimony is proven, the possible irregular fulfillment of the duties of care and conservation of the agency’s assets by its director, architect Martín Marcos,” argued the brief.

“Since such a circumstance is projected on the Cultural Heritage of the Nation, it is considered prudent to order the preventive suspension of the agent for a period of 30 days, for the purposes of the development of the investigation and the collection of the evidence that leads to the investigation. material truth, avoiding any attempt to obstruct it that could affect the preliminary investigation,” the text continued.

Marcos’s complaint is processed in Secretariat No. 16 of the National Federal Criminal Court No. 8 under file No. 462/2022.
