Little Jon has always liked to eat cinnamon rolls. Every Sunday he gets three pieces from the bakery: for him, mum and dad. But one day everything will be different. Baby Jule is here. When Jon brings four cinnamon rolls on Sunday, he gets laughs for it – really annoying. Like all the hype about the baby anyway. So he goes into the garden with the two cinnamon rolls, sits under the tree – and in his sad insecurity he receives help from an unexpected source…
In her third picture book “Jon and the Fourth Cinnamon Roll”, which was recently published by Mixtvision Verlag, the Ottensheim author Corinna Antelmann tackles a problem that many parents are familiar with: rivalry when a sibling is born. “It’s a learning process for the older child,” she says. Your book is therefore a comfort book in which the tree stands for reliability. “A tree is the best place to lean against and listen, even when a lot is changing around you.” At the same time, the book has a magical component. Because: “In the imagination everything is possible.”
“Alienation”: no publisher yet
The author is currently present in the theater with a second work. Her youth novel “Alienation” was adapted by Nele Neitzke for the Landestheater’s online youth channel. The piece will be performed live but can only be seen online. Not only a text version was created for this, but also a separate virtual design. Antelmann is very happy with the play – less so with the status of the novel’s publication: There is still no publisher who wants to bring out “Alienation” – even though the feedback on the play is very good.
