An acquaintance of the couple told The Mirror newspaper that the Beckham donation was said to be £1million, made on behalf of the whole family. The commitment is intended to benefit the children in Ukraine and also encourage other people to also get involved with donations.
In an Instagram video, David Beckham tells how shocked he is to see the pictures of the fleeing children in Ukraine: “Children are snatched out of their beds at night to flee.” Russia has been at war in Ukraine for two weeks. “The needs of the families are increasing, there are around seven and a half million children at risk,” writes the soccer star in his description of the video.
