The news comes less than an hour after sony music announced that it will suspend its operations in the country.
“Sony Music Group calls for peace in Ukraine and an end to violence. We have suspended operations in Russia and will continue our support of global humanitarian relief efforts to help victims in need,” the company said in a statement.
Two days ago Universal Music Group also suspended its activities. The three main labels, Universal, Sony and Warner, have local labels and operations in Russia; all three companies have made donations to Ukraine’s relief efforts.
In total, more than 280 large companies with a significant presence in Russia have already announced the suspension of their operations there, according to an inventory prepared by Yale University, while some thirty multinationals continued to work.
