Ludacris: That’s important to him when raising children

The second season of “Karma’s World” starts on March 10th. In an interview, producer Ludacris revealed what he wants to achieve with the series.

The second season of the children’s animated series “Karma’s World” starts today, Thursday (March 10). The series by Chris Bridges, better known as rapper Ludacris (44), deals with real-life issues such as body positivity, self-confidence, discrimination, friendship and family. “Karma’s World” follows ten-year-old Karma, an aspiring musician and rapper of great talent. In the series, she repeatedly encounters challenges that she solves with tips from her parents and friends. The protagonist is named after Ludacris’ daughter Karma Bridges (20) and deals with situations that happened to her as a child.

The rapper himself is very proud of the project. The first season reached the top 10 list of the kids charts on Netflix when it was released. In season two, the musician involved his daughter more. “It’s great to involve them,” he says happily in an interview with the news agency spot on news. In the conversation, the rapper also revealed what changes he wants to bring about with his series and what his own upbringing style is like.

“Karma’s World” is a great success. There’s a book, a soundtrack, the series – and soon a doll? What else can fans look forward to?

Chris “Ludacris” Bridges: Yes, there will be a doll – but first in the US, Canada and the UK. As for Germany, I always had a lot of respect because there are a lot of true hip-hop fans there. Germans really love culture. So when it comes to “The World of Karma” on Netflix, Germany is the number one country to make it a success. We address topics such as body positivity and leadership. It’s also about realizing that you can’t please everyone. The project is about inclusion and about us staying creative. I couldn’t be prouder to share this with the world again.

Was your daughter more involved in season 2 than the first?

Bridges: Yes, but school is still her priority. She will definitely be included in all aspects. I consult with her, let her look over it and hear her opinion on certain things. It’s great to include them. Especially when it is a legacy not just for our family but for all families around the world.

Has the series changed the father-daughter relationship between you and Karma?

Bridges: No, but it changed the father-daughter relationship between my other daughters. They wonder where their Netflix show is. (laughs)

Maybe more coming soon?

Bridges: Let’s see. If everyone in Germany supports the second season of “Karma’s World”, then there will be more. I guarantee that!

Music is an important part of the series. How important is music for you and your daughter to express themselves?

Bridges: Music is the universal language of love. So it was very easy for us to express ourselves. It’s so great to be doing what you love while trying to motivate and enrich the rest of the world and the new generation. How better could I do that than with my own daughters?

In the United States, March is Women’s History Month. As a husband and father, how do you encourage your daughters to accept themselves as young girls/young women?

Bridges: I try to teach them to accept their uniqueness, because each of them is exceptional in their own way. They all have specific talents and I want them to embrace them as best they can so they understand how unique they are. This allows them to be confident about who they are.

A lot has changed – celebrities speak more openly about racism, fears, their body image, social pressure. How would you like to contribute to this change with “Karma’s World”?

Bridges: We have a whole episode on that in Season 2. It’s about body awareness and body types and celebrating each other. These are the issues that concern the world and that’s why people love the series. I want “Karma’s World” to be bigger than Ludacris ever was. That is the goal and we are on the right track.

Social media plays a big part in everyone’s life these days – as a parent, do you feel responsible for controlling your kids’ social media consumption?

Bridges: The best way I can put it is this: I try to be the change I want to see in the world. That’s why I created a series that spreads more positivity and gives kids the opportunity to see something that enriches them more than something else they might be watching.

Many parents face the problem of their children being bullied. The subject is also addressed in “Karma’s World”. As a parent, do you sometimes feel responsible for this?

Bridges: No. Not all people are the same. So what I’m trying to preach is that everyone should value the similarities and differences of others. If they encounter difficulties, if they have trouble dealing with those difficulties, and if they don’t know how to deal with other people, then that’s okay. Everyone will encounter some problems and resistance. But it’s about teaching the children how to deal with it and how to raise with love and continue to do so. We should throw ourselves headfirst into any challenge we encounter. They are inevitable for every child. That’s why “Karma’s World” is such a great series – it depicts such situations.

How do you stay positive yourself in a world full of negativity and hate? How do you teach that to your children?

Bridges: I tell them that what they put into the world, they get back. Every time they are loving to each other, can complement each other and try to do something for other people, it shows that we are there on this earth to do that. It’s about giving back and knowing that we are all connected in some way. It’s always about love, not war. love is the answer

How do you define your roles as parents? How is your wife’s parenting style different from yours?

Bridges: It’s a balancing act between being her best friend and her parent. You should know when to do certain things. The most important thing is that the children talk to you and are not afraid to share their feelings.

What do you think is the most important thing in raising children?

Bridges: For me, the most important thing in parenting is love. love and communication. That is the most important thing you can give your children. You should make sure that you spend a lot of time with your children. It’s not necessarily about how much time you spend. It’s about the quality of time. We all have to work, we all have to do certain things, but we should make sure that time is spent with the children. Especially in the world we live in today.
