There has been much speculation over the past month about the future of Princess Charlene of Monaco. Charlène has been receiving medical treatment in a luxury clinic since mid-November. It was rumored that a return to the palace could not be expected any time soon. If she ever returns to the city-state at all. There was even talk of a separation of the princely couple. Now the bang: As the Prince’s Palace announced on Saturday, Charlène is back with the family.
In Monaco, alongside her husband Prince Albert II and their children, she will continue to recover, the statement said. In the coming weeks she should fully recover and then gradually take over her official duties again. When she returned, Charlene was happily reunited with her family.

Charlene of Monaco back with her family
At the beginning of November, the 44-year-old princess returned to Monaco after months in her home country. Shortly thereafter, she came to a clinic outside the principality for treatment. The reason given by the princely palace was a state of general exhaustion. Albert II said in an interview that she was suffering from physical and emotional exhaustion. “She was overwhelmed and could not face official duties, life in general, or even family life,” he explained at the time. The Monaco palace also reported dental problems.
Charlène originally traveled to South Africa to support the fight against rhino poaching. Actually, only a few days lasting visit to her native country was planned. After a serious ear, nose and throat infection, however, the doctors prohibited her from flying, which is why she had to recover on site and could not return to her family as quickly as originally planned.
The fact that Charlène is actually back at court comes as a surprise. Although Prince Albert II had taken great pains to dispel any rumors during her absence. Again and again he had shown himself full of confidence because of the return of his wife. As early as mid-February, he reported to the daily newspaper “Monaco-Matin”: “Princess Charlène is doing much better and I hope that she will be back in the Principality soon. Now the time has apparently come.
