Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann (59) on the auction of a picture by the artist Marc Jung (36). The entire proceeds of the auction should therefore go to an aid organization that supports the people of Ukraine. Lindemann has not yet announced which organization it is. The auction of the cooperation between Lindemann and Jung with the title “Peace Please” runs until March 20 at 11:59 p.m.
The picture shows, among other things, a stylized peace dove with “Peace Please 2022” written above it. Below are the names of Jung and Lindemann. Also young. “We want to appeal to humanity and hope for a quick end to the war, since we have friends on both sides,” explains the artist.
“Especially sad for the suffering of Ukraine”
Lindemann and Rammstein had previously taken a position. For one, the singer had two performances on his “I Hate Children” solo tour scheduled for December. In a story he also published a photo that showed him next to a monument in Kyiv.
On the other hand, his band, which will release their new album “Zeit” on April 29, said they “wanted to express their support for the Ukrainian people” – and spoke, among other things, of a “shocking attack by the Russian government”.
The band members “feel particularly sad about the suffering of the Ukrainians at this moment,” it said. Each of the musicians has “friends, colleagues, partners and fans in Ukraine and Russia”. Rammstein is “aware of the desperation that many Russian fans feel at the actions of their government and we want to remember the humanity that Russian and Ukrainian citizens share.”
