Pink Floyd withdraws its discography since 1987 from Russian platforms

“We do this to join the world in strongly condemning the invasion of Ukraine. To join the world in strongly condemning,” the group said in a statement.

Already at the beginning of March, Gilmour had written on social networks a repudiation of Russia and a request for support for Ukraine.

“Russian soldiers, please stop killing your brothers. There will be no winners in this war. My daughter-in-law is Ukrainian and my granddaughters want to visit and learn about your beautiful country. Stop this before everything is destroyed. Putin must go.” the musician said.

According to some speculations, the discography from his early years until the late ’80s, which involves Waters, was not lifted from those platforms due to issues related to the rights of those works.

Meanwhile, the bassist, who has not stopped demonstrating around the different social and political events worldwide, condemned the Russian attack but also reminded other countries that suffer the same fate as Ukraine, such as Afghanistan, Syria, Palestine and Serbia, and called for a ceasefire and the lifting of sanctions on them.
