I haven’t seen it yet, but I think it would be fantastic.” Cage said (via IGN). “The villain that Vincent Price played on the ’60s show, Egghead, I think I want to try that on Egghead. I think I can make it absolutely terrifying. And I have a concept for Egghead. So let Warner Bros. know I’m in for Egghead.”
It should be noted that for a couple of years now Nicolas Cage has been experiencing a kind of revival in his career, he obtained several nominations for his role in the film “Pig” and has generated much expectation with his next film, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” where he will play an exaggerated version (even more) of himself.
In the comics, Egghead is a master criminal and one of the smartest people in the world. Considering how Reeves reimagined the Riddler with paul dano for “The Batman,” Cage’s call for a “terrifying” new spin on Egghead could appeal to the director. “The Batman” franchise is currently set to expand with two spin-off series from hbo maxone set in Arkham Asylum and another centered on Penguin, played by Colin Farrell.
As for the possible sequel to “TheBatman”, Reeves told press at the film’s UK premiere: “You don’t do number one like there’s a number two. You have to do number one like you’re fighting for the fences and it has to be a story that stands and lives on its own. But I really believe in what we’ve done and I’d be excited to tell more stories.”
“We’re already telling other stories in the streaming space, we’re doing stuff on HBO Max, we’re doing a Penguin show with Colin, which is going to be great.” the manager added. “And we’re working on other things as well, but we’ve started talking about another movie.”
“The Batman” is available in theaters across the country.
