Children’s Friends campaign: “The gun is not a toy”

The campaign by Kinderfreunde OÖ “The weapon is not a toy” has now become sadly topical due to the war in the Ukraine. The chairman of Kinderfreunde Oberösterreich, Roland Schwandner, explains that the organization has been dealing with the subject for a long time: “We found posters against war toys from the 1960s. We have a long tradition of peace education.” Whenever we became aware of wars, the Kinderfreunde Oberösterreich made a new attempt to clear households in the state of war toys. “It’s important to talk to the girls and boys about the subject. They should voluntarily part with these toys,” says Schwandner.
