“Well acted, well matured, with a quiet emotion that, supported by Anton Chekhov and Haruki Murakami, develops a story of intense reflections on the human soul. It lasts three hours, it seems like two, and nobody moves from the room”. This is how this page summed up the intense impression caused by “Drive my car” at the Mar del Plata Film Festival, where it was presented out of competition. Now, with 68 international awards in tow, and a candidate for another four at the next Oscars, this film by the master Ryusuke Hamaguchi can be seen from April through Mubi, but, even better, it is being previewed, today and tomorrow, on Lugones room. The novelty caused so much interest that, as soon as it was announced, four other functions had to be added for the next few weekends. In fact, watching it at home seems more comfortable, but there is nothing like a movie theater to see a work like this with the calm and concentration that it deserves – and that the viewer deserves.
