In order to reach his Russian fans, Arnold Schwarzenegger came up with something special. The actor published a video on several platforms in which he tells the Russians the truth about the war in Ukraine.
Arnold Schwarzenegger often turns to his fans to draw their attention to grievances. Reaching his followers in Russia is more than difficult these days.

So Schwarzenegger has now recorded a video that he shared on all his social platforms in order to reach as many as possible of those who are being lied to by Russian propaganda media. “There are moments like this that are so wrong, and then we have to speak up,” he says in English in a serious tone. He provided his video with Russian subtitles.
“I know your government has told you that this is a war to denazify Ukraine, but that is not true. Ukraine is a country with a Jewish president, three of them [Onkel] were all murdered by the Nazis,” explains Schwarzenegger.

At the same time, it seems important to him not to blame the Russians themselves. “The authorities in the Kremlin started this war. This is not the war of the Russian people,” says the “Terminator” star. “The world has turned against Russia because of the actions in Ukraine, entire districts were destroyed by Russian artillery and bombs, including a children’s hospital and a maternity hospital,” he explains to his fans.

His childhood hero was the weightlifter Yuri Petrovich Vlasov, whose poster he had hanging in his bedroom. Schwarzenegger’s father, who had fought for the Nazis against the Russian army, was not enthusiastic about it, the 74-year-old explains to his fans.
At the end of the almost ten-minute video, Schwarzenegger makes the connection to his war-torn father, who suffered mentally and physically from the consequences of the war for years. “This is an illegal war, your life, your limbs are being sacrificed for a senseless war condemned by the whole world,” he tells Russian citizens. “I don’t want you to be as broken as my father,” he said directly to the Russian soldiers.
Schwarzenegger also has a message for Vladimir Putin: “You started this war. You are fighting this war. End this war.”
