Michael Hartl: Doctors bring folk musicians out of a coma

One day before his birthday: Michael Hartl was taken out of an artificial coma after his stroke and subsequent operation.

Michael Hartl (72) woke up from the artificial coma. This is reported by his wife Marianne Hartl (69). “It’s going up! I just got off the phone with Michael, it’s working wonderfully again,” says the folk music singer in an interview. The most important thing for her husband was to thank his team of doctors “who saved his life with a very special, new type of surgery”.

Hartl suffered a stroke a week ago and had to undergo surgery. His wife had this . Thank God she woke up and immediately knew what had happened. “As a result, the window of opportunity for help was short. He’s in the best clinic in southern Germany. We can do it. He’ll get through it!” She explained at the time.

Birthday cake as a thank you

“Of course, Michael also thanked me, his spatzl, for reacting correctly right away,” explained the singer in the “Bild” interview. He also expressed a wish because he will be celebrating his 73rd birthday next Friday: “He said: ‘You have to bring a big cake tomorrow for all the doctors and nurses.’ Of course I will.” The two would now look forward to “a new year of life in good health”.

The singing duo has been married since 1979 and has two sons. The two had already met in 1973 and a short time later were engaged as a singing and musician duo. Since then, they have also moderated numerous television formats such as the “Super Hit Parade of Folk Music”, “Funny Musicians”, the “Preliminary Decision for the Grand Prix of Folk Music” or “Christmas with Marianne and Michael”.
