On Instagram, Sarah Connor was furious about the corona rules, which in her opinion were unjust. The culture is completely disregarded.
Most people can still see the scenes surrounding the European Championship final between England and Italy. Cheering fans who – maskless – lie in each other’s arms, scream, celebrate, keep no distance. Sport is back, especially soccer. Another industry is likely to be annoyed by this sight.
Sarah Connor criticizes Corona injustice
Singer Sarah Connor now expressed on Instagram what many other cultural workers probably think. “It’s hard to see that everyone goes on vacation, restaurants are open again. There are football games with tens of thousands of spectators and we are still shut down,” she writes. She is currently in the process of organizing upcoming concerts in September with her touring team. “We have been fighting for weeks to be able to do these shows in September (…),” says Connor.
The 3G rule (tested, vaccinated, recovered) has been implemented, test stations have been created at locations and “complete visitor data collection” has been introduced. But it is still not certain whether the concerts can take place. “The problem is simply that the current Corona regulations only apply for a few weeks and, for example, there is still no regulation for September in the federal states,” explains the musician.
Anger among artists
At the end of her post, Connor gets angry. “Of course it’s great that life is mostly feeling ‘normal’ again !!! But what about us ??? Have we been forgotten ??? As if music, concerts and culture didn’t play a role at all. How long should that be go now ??? And WHAT should we do to meet the requirements ??? I’m slowly losing my patience. That is simply NOT FAIR “, she writes.
Many artists would probably agree with Connor on this point. Her contribution was liked by Lena Meyer-Landrut, among others.
