The actress Ingrid Fröhlich (1940-2021) is dead. As the German press agency learned from family circles on Saturday, the TV commissioner died on Friday, July 30th. She was 81 years old.
Fröhlich got her first roles at the Volkstheater in Vienna. In the 1970s she then stood in front of the camera for several television productions, including the ZDF series “Mordkommission” and “Drei sind ein zuviel”. In 1978 she wrote television history with her role as detective master Renate Burger in the ZDF series “SOKO 5113”: She was the first West German TV inspector. She held her investigative role for a total of 19 episodes. In the early 1980s, Fröhlich retired from acting.
Comeback at “SOKO Munich”
In 2018, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of “SOKO Munich” – until 2015 “SOKO 5113” – she slipped back into her previous role. In the episode “On give and take”, the TV commissioner herself became a suspect.
