The police and the Attorney General have now published the first details of the toxicological investigation. According to the Colombian authorities, ten different “substances” have been detected in his body.
“Toxicology testing of Taylor Hawkins’ urine has preliminary identified ten types of substances including: THC, tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines and opioids,” the Attorney General’s Office of Colombia said in a statement on Saturday.
“The National Institute of Forensic Medicine is continuing medical investigations to fully determine the cause of Taylor Hawkins’ death,” the statement said. The Attorney General’s Office will also continue its own investigation.

An ambulance was dispatched to a hotel in northern Bogotá on Friday to help a patient believed to be Hawkins, the city’s health ministry said. “The medical professional handling the emergency indicated that she performed the appropriate resuscitation measures,” the statement said. “However, there was no response and the patient was pronounced dead.”Hawkins and his bandmates – Dave Grohl (53), Pat Smear (62), Chris Shiflett (50), Nate Mendel (53) and Rami Jaffee (53) – were scheduled to perform at the Estéreo Picnic festival in Bogotá on Friday. However, organizers announced that the headliners will not be performing due to a medical emergency.
Earlier this week the band were touring South America and had played at Lollapalooza Argentina. The band has since canceled the remainder of the tour.
