YouTube seeks to compete with Netflix with free movies and series: how to find them

YouTube’s move is an attempt to compete with streaming giants like Netflix, which revealed earlier this year that it would release hundreds of new original content.

Currently, there are 360 movies and 100 shows available to stream for free with ads on YouTube: Popular movies like “Legally Blonde”, “Runaway Bride” or “60 Seconds” are available among others.

Youtube noted in its press release that last year the platform “reached more than 135 million people on connected TVs in the US.”

How to access Youtube library

YouTube users can access the free content on any device, including iPads, smart TVs, and smartphones.

First you have to go to the dropdown menu on the left side of the YouTube home page. Next, scroll down to “Subscriptions” and tap on “Movies & Shows”. Once there, click on the “Free to watch” section and your entire library should appear. If users want an ad-free experience, the option to rent or buy their favorite titles will still be available.
