What happens after Alfons Schuhbeck’s bankruptcy? The first negotiations are underway.
After celebrity chef Alfons Schuhbeck went bankrupt, the insolvency administrator started talks with potential investors.
“Talks about possible restructuring solutions for the affected companies are already underway,” said the office of insolvency administrator Max Liebig on Tuesday in Munich. “At the current early stage, no concrete results on the related efforts are foreseeable.”
According to the announcement, Schubeck has now also filed for bankruptcy for its spice trade. In mid-July, when he announced that he had filed for bankruptcy for his restaurants and party service, he said he was still hoping to keep the spice trade.
The operation is currently still “seamlessly” everywhere, as it was said in the notification of the insolvency administrator. The wages for the employees are guaranteed up to and including September. He will be paid out of the bankruptcy money.
Schuhbeck had filed for bankruptcy last month and blamed the lack of state corona aid. The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs did not comment specifically on this individual case, but emphasized that all beneficiaries also received financial help.
Tax investigations have been ongoing against Schuhbeck for a long time, as the restaurateur has admitted. The Munich public prosecutor’s office does not comment on the case with reference to tax secrecy.
And the Federal Office of Justice (BFJ) is also taking action against the Munich celebrity chef because he is said to have not published any annual reports since 2017. Since this violates the disclosure requirements stipulated in the Commercial Code for several types of companies, the Bonn authority has initiated administrative fine proceedings.
