Panic breaks out in the city: The “committee of the greatest willingness to make decisions” wants to eradicate the “human junk”. The new, popularly elected regime checks whose life is valuable – if not, leave the city within 24 hours. But suddenly Ak, the leader of such integrity, doubts his regime. He installs the “committee of the highest consideration”, which instead of death sentences draws up reports of joy. But even this change of heart does not mean a happy ending …
What sounds like a parable about the Nazi regime is the story “The story of Ak and humanity” written by the Russian author Yefim Sosulja in 1917. Economically but effectively staged by Katrin Lindner, an adaptation for over 15-year-olds is currently being shown at the Schäxpir Festival in the outdoor area of the Bruckner University. But the piece can hardly be deciphered for young people, the rigid figure scheme offers little room for identification. The acting students of the second year, Rebecca Hammermüller, Leonie Jacobs, Gemma Vannuzzi, Patrick Ljuboja, Kaspar Simonischek and Nils Thomas, show after a cautious start but a mature performance overall.
