ACE Awards: The actor Mario Alarcón, took the highest award

The Gold to Alarcón made “The comic view” won five awards (including its author and another of its protagonists, Stella Galazzi), one less than “Trans Golden Age”adaptation of Gonzalo Demaria on “Don Gil of the Green Tights”by Tirso de Molina who won the Comedy, Directing (by Pablo Maritano) and Female Revelation (for Payuca) categories, among others.

For its part, “Hello Dolly” won four awards (highlighting the general direction and female lead for Arturo Puig and Lucía Galán, respectively) and “Jauría”, by Jordi Casanovas, won three awards, all of them weighty: Best Drama o Dramatic Comedy, Directed by Nelson Valente and starring Vanesa González.

The ACE gala -which this year distinguished the activity carried out in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 seasons in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic that reduced activity-, was conducted by Gabriela Radice with live television through La TV Pública .

Among the outstanding voices of those who raised their statuettes were those of the play “La vis comica” (by the choreographer Leandra Rodríguez who maintained that “the scenic art needs our activism” and its author and director Mauricio Kartun, capable of requesting for the reopening of the Teatro Presidente Alvear).

The trans actress Payuca also pointed out that “my little personal struggle is that I begin to be recognized more for my talent than for my sexual condition.”

During the first section of the delivery and from the mention to the businessman Carlos Rottemberg, who requested it, there was a long applause in homage to Enrique Pinti, who died yesterday, and another tribute was given when Roberto Moldavsky – who prevailed in the humorous category – pointed out that “the legacy that Enrique Pinti leaves us is that we have to take risks with humour”.

Towards the end of the night of more than 150 minutes, Nora Lafón, president of ACE, also remembered Pinti with a personal anecdote and added Agustín Alezzo, one of the victims of the coronavirus who died in July 2020. at 84 years old.
