Vera Int-Veen says goodbye to television – after 30 years. But the presenter is sure that she will not be bored in the future.
In the midst of the 1990s retro wave on German television, one of the best-known talkers of the time said goodbye to the screen: presenter Vera Int-Veen (“Daughter-in-law wanted”) wants to end her television career.
“One should stop when it is most beautiful! After 30 years on television, I’m now dedicating myself to other projects and I’m relaxed about everything that’s to come,” she told the German Press Agency on Wednesday. Several media had previously reported.
The entertainer from Meerbusch became known in the golden days of the midday talk shows in the 90s. She moderated her Sat.1 format “Vera am Mittag” more than 2000 times. She later switched to RTL and presented there, among other things, the dome show “Daughter-in-law wanted”, in which she helped lonely bachelors to find their dream woman. The last season so far ran in 2021, after which the future of the format was not yet clear.
Int-Veen herself spoke up in an Instagram video on Wednesday and thanked her for the numerous messages she had received about her announcement. Nevertheless, she will have “enough to do” in the future. Among other things, she wants to travel a lot. “I want to criss-cross the world again,” said Int-Veen. She’s looking forward to that.
