“Pistol”: Danny Boyle’s new series on the Sex Pistols confirmed its premiere date

As the official synopsis reads, “The raging storm at the center of this revolution is the Sex Pistols, and at the center of this series is founding member and guitarist Steve Jones. The hilarious, emotional and sometimes heartbreaking journey by Jones guides us through a kaleidoscopic narrative of three of the most epic, chaotic, mucus-splashed years in music history.Based on Jones’s memoir, ‘Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol,’ this is the story of a gang of rowdy, pimply working-class kids with “no future” who rocked the core of the boring and corrupt establishment, threatened to overthrow the government, and changed music and culture forever.”

Toby Wallace stars in the limited series as Jones, rounding out the band with Anson Boon as Johnny Rotten louis partridge as Sid Vicious Jacob Slater like Paul Cook and Christian Lees like Glen Matlock.

The distribution is completed with Thomas Brodie-Sangster as the band’s manager, Malcolm McLaren, the “Game of Thrones” actress Maisie Williams like punk icon Pamela ‘Jordan’ Rooke, and Talulah Riley like designer Vivienne Westwood. Iris Law She will make her screen debut in the series as Soo Catwoman.

“This is the moment when British society and culture changed forever,” Boyle previously shared in a statement. “It’s the detonation point of British street culture, where ordinary young people would have the stage and vent their anger and their fashion, and everyone had to watch and listen… and everyone was either afraid of them or followed them. The Sex Pistols. At the center was a charming illiterate young kleptomaniac, a hero for the time, Steve Jones, who became, in his own words, the 94th greatest guitarist of all time. That’s how he got there.”

It should be remembered that John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, sued (unsuccessfully) the production for the use of his songs and called the series “the most disrespectful shit I’ve ever had to put up with.” Lydon was offered to meet with Boyle and showrunner Craig Pearce, but he declined to participate.
