The British Queen Elizabeth II has congratulated Duchess Meghan on her 40th birthday. Along with congratulations, the royal family published several photos on their Twitter account on Wednesday, in which the Duchess of Sussex can be seen side by side with the Queen, among other things.
Harry’s brother William and his wife Kate also congratulated their sister-in-law on Twitter – with a photo of her on the beach with a Hawaiian necklace around her neck.
Meghan and Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family has been considered strained since the couple withdrew to the United States last year. Harsh allegations of racism and lack of support, which the two had made in a high-profile television interview, heightened tensions.
