1. SILVER SEA
The most sought after place by train lovers. Many will surely remember El Marplatense, a legendary train that in the 1950s made the journey in four hours and a little while between the Capital and La Feliz. The service started operating again in 2017, with cars equipped with air conditioning and a dining room. Although it can reach 140 km/h, it takes a little longer on this return than half a century before.
Needless to mention what MDQ offers the visitor. The Boulevard Marítimo, the pedestrians, the visits to the Port, or the MAR art museum, are classics of this city.
There are direct trains from Constitución station, with several frequencies.
The ticket costs $660 in Primera and $795 in Pullman.
2. CHASCOMUS
The city of former president Raúl Alfonsín is reached by taking the train that leaves Constitución and “stops at all of them.”
It is the convoy that passes through Brandsen, Chascomús, Lezama, Castelli, Sevigné, Dolores, General Guido, Maipú, Las Armas, General Pirán, Col. Vidal and Vivorata.
Chascomús is a good choice for a weekend, with its lagoon and all the opportunities for sports or rest and relaxation that it offers. The Parque Libres del Sur, the Cathedral, the House of Vicente Casco and the Museo Pampeano are worth a visit.
There are trips every day from Capital Federal. Estimated duration of the trip: 2 hours.
The ticket costs $195 (First) and $235 (Pullman).
3. PINAMAR
If the idea is a getaway to the sea, Pinamar is a must, although in autumn bike or horseback tours prevail, although you can also visit the golf courses.
Rail service to Pinamar was restored last January after being inactive for six years. The trains depart from Constitución and cover two sections: to General Guido, 245 km from Buenos Aires, where you have to make a transfer to cover the remaining 100 km to the Divisadero Pinamar station.
The total cost of the two tickets is $570 (First).
4. BRAGGED
The lagoon and cycling alike attract to this town, which is also a good place for fishing. There is also the Teatro Constantino, inspired by the Scala in Milan, and a nine-hole golf course. The Double Bragado, since 1922, is a very important cycling event.
Trains to Bragado leave from Estación Once.
Attention: this service includes stops in Luján, Mercedes, Suipacha, A. Vaccarezza and Mechita.
The cost of the ticket is $155 (First) and $186 (Pullman).
5. LUJAN
If you go to Bragado, you can go through Luján, or vice versa. Luján is dominated by the gigantic Basilica, which includes the crypt and a museum. From its galleries, 32 meters high, Belgrano Square and part of the city can be seen. Also noteworthy is the Enrique Udaondo Provincial Museum Complex, the Brazzola Theater and the Capilla de los Negros. On the river of the same name, beautiful resorts and yacht clubs are formed. From there you can visit Carlos Keen and Jáuregui.
The train takes a little over hours to Luján.
The ticket costs $49 and $59, either in First or Pullman.
