Alicia Vikander: A rare glimpse into her family life

Alicia Vikander (33) kept her pregnancy a secret for a long time before confirming in September 2021 that she had become a mother. She had previously been seen with her fellow actor Michael Fassbender (45) and a baby, but had not commented on it at first. she now tells at least a few details from family life together.

“In my small family, with my husband and my child, we always travel together,” explains the Swedish actress. “That’s the rule.” The two stars choose their jobs so that “one of us can always be with the baby”.

Vikander also talks about the couple’s life during the corona pandemic. It was “a chance” for her and Fassbender to spend time at home – to cook or train together. They enjoyed the garden or watched movies together. The whole thing turned out to be a kind of blessing for the otherwise busy actress.

What was difficult for her, however, was that she had been trying to get pregnant “for a while” – even if she hadn’t thought much about it originally. That got to her. “I actually didn’t think I wanted to have kids until I was 30,” explains Vikander. According to the article, the 33-year-old suffered a miscarriage, which showed her how badly she wanted to be a mother. “For a while I didn’t think I could get pregnant,” she continues. With her child, however, she has changed in every respect: “It’s life, it’s so profound.”

Vikander and Fassbender met on the set of the 2014 film The Light Between Oceans. In October 2017, the couple, who otherwise keep their private lives quite strictly out of the public eye, said yes.
