In dialogue with the magazine Hi, Argentina!Martita recounted what happened the night Gustavo committed suicide, throwing himself out of the apartment where he lived with her and her brother Felipe: “When all this happened, when Felipe came running to tell me, I thought it couldn’t be true, no could be true.”
“I don’t know why people say he was depressed if no one ever noticed him depressed. Until the last day he treated me the same as always, he treated me as he always treated me. I never thought something like this could happen,” said Martita.
And he made a forceful clarification when asked if he ever suspected that he might commit suicide.
“No, never. Almost every day we sat down for coffee and chatted. And I never noticed it badly, I never suspected anything,” he closed before clarifying that he is still “processing” what happened.
And he concluded: “I saw it as something that was not for me, as an option for boys who hid things from their families, for example, and since I was never like that, I felt that it was not for me. Now another loss is added in my life, one more than my dad and my grandmother, and it’s something I have to live with, so I’m seriously thinking about therapy.
