Neflix announced yesterday the documentary that reconstructs the crime of José Luis Cabezas in 1997, directed by Alejandro Hartmann, with Vanessa Ragone in production, the same team of “Carmel: Who killed María Marta?”, a docuseries about the murder of María Marta Garcia Belsunce. This film (see page 25) will be part of the Bafici 2022 program, as was also announced yesterday. The film will be titled “The Photographer and the Postman: The Crime of Cabezas”, and recounts the circumstances that led to the crime of photographer José Luis Cabezas, murdered in January 1997, after less than a year before, in March 1996, obtained for the magazine Noticias the first public photos of the businessman Alfredo Yabrán. In 2000, an oral and public trial was held in which eight men were convicted, including Gregorio Ríos, Yabrán’s chief of security, and three police officers. Yabrán committed suicide in May 1998 with a pending arrest warrant for him and never made it to court.
