Last July, Bob Odenkirk suffered a heart attack while filming Better Call Saul. That “traumatized” his colleagues.
Actor Bob Odenkirk (59) suffered a heart attack while filming the series “Better Call Saul” last July. He later reported that he owed his life to the people on set who acted quickly. But like Odenkirk, the incident would have traumatized his colleagues in the long term.
Odenkirk doesn’t remember the heart attack
“I would say it traumatized the cast and crew more than it did me,” Odenkirk said. “Cause I have a gap where I had that heart attack.” He doesn’t remember the day it happened, nor the next week and a half. But his colleagues “were all right there. They saw me collapse, they saw the defibrillator used on me three times, and the paramedics looked at each other and said, ‘He’s not coming back,'” Odenkirk says.
Odenkirk survived the heart attack and returned to filming about a month later. He later asked his colleagues to describe in detail how they experienced the situation. “I wanted to understand what happened,” said the 59-year-old.
