Trouble for Mario Barth: The comedian wanted to take the Deutsche Bahn at the weekend. Because he was temporarily not wearing his mask, he was thrown off the train. Barth documents the situation with a video.
Comedian Mario Barth actually wanted to take the ICE to Frankfurt at the weekend. During a live stream from his compartment, however, he apparently took off his mask for a short time – although masks are still compulsory on Deutsche Bahn trains. Barth and a train attendant apparently initially fought a battle of words.
Because the situation could not be clarified, the train attendant made use of his domiciliary rights – and summarily threw Barth and his two companions off the train. Particularly unpleasant for Barth: Two police officers were already waiting for the troops at the next train station in Hanau. When one of his companions points this out to him, Barth asks in astonishment: “Really, did he call the cops?”

In a dialogue with the police officers, Barth first asks who is paying for the damage. Among other things, he was unable to fully use the ticket he had already paid for and would now have to take a taxi from Hanau to Frankfurt. Later, Barth says he has “good lawyers” and announces that he will “clarify the situation legally”.

The situation is documented because Mario Barth started a live stream and then uploaded the 45-minute video to Instagram. However, it is unclear how the argument with the train attendant actually took place, since the video only starts after the incident.
Shortly before the end of the video, Barth himself admits: “It’s true, I didn’t drink for a while and still took off the mask, but I thought that because the compartment was only ours with a locked door, it didn’t matter. “
Before that, however, Barth suspected a personal background and “arbitrariness” behind the incident. A spokesman for Deutsche Bahn told the “Bild” newspaper: “The legal obligation to wear a mask applies on our trains. This also applies to Mario Barth.” A spokesman for the federal police added that the officials had enforced the house rules of the train conductor and “excluded Mr. Barth from continuing the journey on the ICE”.
