Uwe Bohm was much more than just the villain in crime novels: the actor died far too early at the age of 60.
The actor Uwe Bohm died of sudden heart failure. A corresponding Instagram post by the 60-year-old’s wife, Ninon Bohm, was confirmed by her management in Berlin on Monday. Several media had previously reported.
“The whole family would like to thank you for all the love, sympathy and recognition of his talent that we have been able to experience in the last few hours,” wrote Bohm. “We are deeply touched. Uwe would have been very happy. To answer your recurring question about the cause of death, Uwe died of a sudden cardiac death.”
Management has not yet set a date for the funeral. Bohm announced on Saturday that this would be announced later.
Uwe Bohm, the adoptive son of director Hark Bohm, became known for his roles as a villain in thrillers like “Tatort”. The actor, born in Hamburg in 1962 as Uwe Grossmann, began his career as a teenager in 1976 in Hark Bohm’s film “Nordsee ist Mordsee”. He later played successfully in theaters, including at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. He also took part in the 2016 film “Tschick”, directed by Fatih Akin.
