“The only reason I would have stayed longer in Ukraine last time is because I had a gun in my hand,” Penn continued. At the beginning of the Russian invasion, the Oscar winner was in Ukraine. Penn has been working on a documentary about President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (44) for years. The war gave the film, which was actually supposed to shed light on Zelenskyj’s career from actor and comedian to head of state, a new twist.
