Leaving from Río Gallegos, the route to reach the Cabo Vírgenes penguin colony is along a dirt and stone road that is just after Chimen Aiken. There are about 130 km of gravel on a trip that takes about 3-4 hours. But the place is really worth it.

In the area there is also the Hacienda Monte Dinero, where you can make a stop to eat and sleep. It is also very interesting to visit the mythical lighthouse of Cabo Vírgenes, from where Route 40 begins.

PUELO LAKE, CHUBUT

Lago Puelo is 20 minutes from El Bolsón and just over 2 hours from Bariloche and is part of the Lago Puelo National Park and Reserve. It remains a quiet place, focused on family activities and local entrepreneurship.

It is very common to find accommodation in cabins that are resident enterprises. The National Park has a lakefront beach. The proposal is to walk and, at the same time, spend the afternoons in front of the beach.
