In the past timeline, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) turns 36 and prepares to welcome his premature triplets into the world. “MEMPHIS” (SEASON 1, EPISODE 16)

An hour of deep intimacy and connection between father and son, featuring incredible performances from the leads and concluding with a heartbreaking finale.

“SUPER BOWL SUNDAY” (SEASON 2, EPISODE 14)

One of the most iconic episodes of the series is without a doubt one of the saddest moments in history: when the reason why Jack died is finally revealed. With the house on fire, due to a fire caused by a defect in an old electrical appliance, the Pearsons must evacuate their home, and although they manage to do so in time, Jack decides to go back inside the house to save the dog from the fire. However, Kevin travels to Vietnam where he discovers, after following the trail of his father during the war, that no combatant named Pearson had died in that country. This episode is the first to provide details about what happened between Nicky and Jack, and sets the stage for Nicky’s reappearance in the Pearsons’ lives.

“OUR LITTLE ISLANDER” (SEASON 3, EPISODE 13)

Although Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) was present in the series from the beginning, it was not until “Our Little Island Girl” that the dancer assumed the center of the plot. The episode invites you to witness the exciting journey of the character, who in her youth aspired to become a ballet dancer, revealing how her dreams take shape, disappear and, finally, are reborn with the help of Randall and her mother (Phylicia Rashad). .

“STRANGERS” (SEASON 4, EPISODE 1)

“THE CABIN” (SEASON 4, EPISODE 14)

A very emotional episode faithful to the style of the series, where, on the one hand, in a flashback to the 90s, a teenage Kate spends a terrible weekend in the family cabin with Marc, her boyfriend with whom she has a relationship. while, in the present, the trio of siblings gather at the family cabin and reflect on the many ways their childhood and their parents’ relationship made them the adults they are today, when they find the capsule of the time that Rebecca and Jack buried years before.

“BIOLOGICAL MOTHER” (SEASON 5, EPISODE 6)

It’s hard not to see “Birth Mother” as a companion piece to the episode called “Memphis.” On another journey of discovery, Randall and Beth go to New Orleans to learn the story of Laurel (Jennifer C Holmes), Randall’s biological mother. There, they are greeted by Hai (Vien Hong), the Vietnamese man who loved Laurel, and who, in a deep chat, tells them everything he knows about her story: from her troubled childhood to her recovery from a postpartum overdose and his eventual death from cancer. The episode finally gives fans the answers they’ve been waiting for about the mystery woman.

“THE ADIRONDACKS” (SEASON 5, EPISODE 16)

The last episode of the fifth season brings crucial changes for the Pearsons. The cancellation of Kevin and Madison’s wedding, Kate and Toby’s (Chris Sullivan) growing marital problems, and Kevin taking on Jack’s house construction project are some of the surprises that appear throughout the episode. But the real break happens when at the end of the episode, in a jump to the not so distant future, Kate is seen marrying Phillip (Chris Geere); Nicky married, Randall as a political star and Kevin with a courtship.

“DON’T LET IT HOLD YOU” (SEASON 6, EPISODE 3)

The emotional episode dedicated to Jack Pearson collects small moments in Jack’s life, revealing the essence of the character and offering some explanations of why he has made certain decisions throughout his life. After his mother, Marilyn, dies of an aneurysm, Jack must deal with the pain of loss and come to terms with the fact that their relationship will no longer have a chance to grow or heal.
