Cuba Gooding Jr. is currently on trial after several women have made allegations against him. He has now pleaded guilty to one count.

US actor Cuba Gooding Jr. (54) pleaded guilty to one count in court on Wednesday. The allegations in the trial: He is said to have sexually molested three different women in different nightclubs in New York in 2018 and 2019.

The allegations against Gooding Jr. became known about three years ago. According to the report, there were several delays in this case. The star’s attorneys are trying to have the charges reduced or dismissed, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A hearing in April 2020 had been postponed due to the corona pandemic.

In June 2019, the actor turned himself in to the police over the allegations. A 29-year-old woman previously told police the actor touched her in a bar without her consent. A few months later he was indicted on two more counts. Other women had come forward with allegations that he was also said to have touched and molested them. Cuba Gooding Jr. initially denied all allegations.

In his guilty plea on one of the counts, the 54-year-old now admitted, according to media reports, that in 2018 he “kissed a waitress on the lips” in a nightclub in New York without her consent. The Hollywood star apparently hopes to avoid prison after the admission. “I apologize that anyone felt inappropriately touched”, in court.

In addition to this criminal case, Gooding Jr. faces another count of alleged rape. The actor denies the allegations.
