Frank Rosin does not succeed in everything. In an interview, the two-star chef reveals what he can’t do with his grandmother.
Frank Rosin (55) does not always succeed in the kitchen. The two-star chef, who is now publishing his book “Honest as a currywurst: My way from the chip shop to the star restaurant” (ecoWing), reveals in an interview with the news agency spot on news that his favorite dish is Königsberger Klopse: “The My grandmother made the best, and even though I have the original recipe, I just can’t get the same taste.”
Most people probably know Rosin from TV. Whether he prefers to be in the TV studio or in his gourmet restaurant in Dorsten is not so easy for him to answer. “The two jobs are not comparable; I really enjoy doing both. But my greatest passion is cooking and my love of gastronomy.”
As with cooking and gastronomy, his TV work requires “a certain amount of passion and the willingness to constantly develop,” he says of his success with shows such as “Rosins Restaurants”, “The Taste” or “Rosins hero’s kitchen”.
“I definitely made mistakes”
Regarding his career from an apprentice cook to two Michelin stars, he explains: “In the 31 years I’ve been self-employed, I’ve certainly made mistakes. You mustn’t lose this awareness. It’s important to always have a goal in mind and to pursue it consistently. “
He would advise his younger self to “go for a more complex, diverse education”. Rosin adds: “A chef is not taught such important things as, for example, employee management, etc. during a chef’s apprenticeship.”
Frank Rosin’s fans will be hearing from him again in the future. In addition to the book “Ehrlich wie ‘ne Currywurst” he is currently working on new TV formats. “In addition, there is the daily work in the restaurant and the further development of the ‘Green Rosin’ brand. To compensate for all these tasks, I am also currently producing new music in the studio.”
