Handover at Siemens in Upper Austria. After ten years at the helm, Josef Kinast will hand over to Günther Schallmeiner on July 1st. Born in Altmünster, Schallmeiner has been responsible for Austria-wide sales in the Digital Industries division since 2016 and will also take over the branch management.
He wants to advance digitization in industry, buildings and infrastructure, says Schallmeiner, who also wants to accelerate the completion of the new company location “Techbase Linz” in 2022, where all employees of Siemens Upper Austria will then be stationed.
Schallmeiner will be responsible for around 700 employees in Upper Austria. The remaining 600 or so employees in the transformer plant and at Trench belong to Siemens Energy, a company that is listed on the stock exchange.
The Mostviertler Kinast, who has been a Siemensian for 40 years and took over the management in Linz ten years ago, has massively promoted training and further education opportunities in Upper Austria and has been involved in the “Dual Academy” training model beyond the group.
