Outdoor exercise is here to stay: its benefits

According to Spanish Society of Sports Medicine“outdoor exercise boosts the immune system, improves asthma or allergies, lowers blood pressure, promotes socialization, improves sleep quality (with important adjustment of the biological clock) and sunlight increases the activation of the vitamin D, among other benefits.

Claudia Lescano, a graduate in High Performance Sports, recalls that “physical exercise releases endorphins that help to release stress and feel more relaxed”, and that this would deepen in contact with nature.

“Exercise and controlled sun exposure help maintain low body mass indexes, lose weight, regulate blood pressure, increase lung capacity, provide flexibility and firmness to muscles, and balance blood sugar levels, increasing our immune response and reducing the incidence of infections by increasing the number of white blood cells and lymphocytes in the blood”, added the specialist.

On the other hand, experts agree that the mere fact of being outdoors has a positive impact on social life, since one gets in touch with other people, meets new people, cultivates friendships, and is distracted.

That, it is consigned, “generates vitality and optimism, decreases levels of tension and stress, confusion and anger, and if the activities are done as a family, it creates greater connection and stronger ties.”
