Mate or coffee: which one helps you to concentrate more?

Coffee can have an effect that can be too strong; while mate “awakens” those who drink it in a more dosed and pleasant way. This is because the caffeine present in the mate is more diluted in a larger amount of water, which is taken little by little.

This can lead us to establish the benefits of mate and coffee, according to the National Institute of Yerba Mate:

Mate: stimulates the mind and body, induces a feeling of well-being.

Coffee: temporarily improves brain and muscle function

Mate: reduces and prevents: high blood pressure, bad cholesterol, colon cancer, type II diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis. In addition, it serves as a natural laxative; anti-inflammatory; antibacterial, among other positive health characteristics.

Coffee: chlorogenic and caffeic acid can prevent bad cholesterol (LDL), thus preventing atherosclerosis in the arteries, also acting as a strong antioxidant.

Mate: Contains 90% more antioxidants than green tea and, of course, coffee. Its mineral composition is so complete that it could be considered part of the daily diet as a complement to the three main meals.

Coffee: It can decrease the chances of developing type II diabetes and regulate glucose levels.

Mate: It has a high nutritional content, provides vitamins A, B, C and E, as well as minerals such as iron, magnesium, potassium and sodium. Its plant is rich in protein, since it has more than 10 essential amino acids.
