Prince Harry chatted again on American TV – which shouldn’t please the British royal family. The renegade Royal only evaded one question. The reason for this could be an announcement by his father, Prince Charles.
Prince Harry’s trip to Europe makes headlines: The British royal is currently in the Netherlands, where the Invictus Games he founded are taking place. On the sidelines of the sports event for wounded soldiers, Harry has now given a TV interview. He spoke to the American broadcaster NBC, chatted, among other things, about his relationship with his grandmother, the queen, and about his new home in California. The prince only avoided one question.
“Do you miss your family at home?” asked Hoda Kotb, the host of NBC’s “Today” show. Referring to the pandemic, Harry replied in an emphatic manner: “Yes. I think that’s been the case, especially over the last two years. Have most people missed their families? Even the opportunity to go home and see them? Of course. That makes up a big part.” However, Kotb digged deeper and asked Harry specifically: “But do you miss your brother and your father?”
Prince Charles set conditions for a meeting
Here Prince Harry noticeably dodged his answer: “So right now I’m concentrating on these people and their families and I’m giving them everything I can. I’m giving them 120 percent to make sure that they have the experience of their Making life. That’s what I’m focused on here. And when I go, I’ll come back and focus on my family again, which I miss so much,” Harry said. “You certainly do,” interjected Kotb. Whereupon Harry clarified again who exactly he means. “Of course I do, they’re two young children,” he said, referring to his son Archie and daughter Lilibet.
He didn’t say his father’s name – and that could be due to a word of power that he is said to have spoken. Royal expert Robert Jobson says that was the condition of a brief meeting between father and son recently. Charles is said to have demanded that he doesn’t want to hear anything about himself on American television and only agreed to a 15-minute meeting. Harry and his wife Meghan also made a brief stop in Great Britain on their way to the Netherlands and met the Queen for tea in Windsor. After that, apparently, the meeting with Charles took place.
“Prince Charles is at the end of his tether. They are no longer in contact and if they are about this meeting [im US-Fernsehen] had spoken, that would have been it,” Jobson said. Apparently, Harry kept the deal.
